Inspiration to Make the Most of Each Day
Do you lack inspiration? What are the things that make you say, "I want to knit/write/spend more time with my family, but I just don't have time."? What are some things that are keeping you in a rut or keeping you from achieving your goals?
It's time to take charge of your life. Making some changes, both big and small, will help you maximize your time the way you want it.
- Watching TV
- Cleaning your home
- Dealing with paperwork
- Running errands
These are just some of the everyday tasks and chores you've mentioned. You might think people are crazy for wanting to watch less TV, but how much time do you spend watching nonsense that does nothing to fulfill your soul. What keeps you from fulfillment and finding inspiration? How do you spend less time doing things you don't enjoy? There are 3 ways you can help yourself make the most of every day.
Truly Analyze Your Day
From the moment you wake up in the morning, what do you do until you go to sleep? What points in your day are you idly staring at your email? Playing on Facebook? Shopping online for things you probably won't buy? Whatever it is you find yourself doing, is it making you happy? Is it necessary to do?
If you're not happy or productive, stop doing it! Sure, it sounds easy, but it takes conscious effort and sometimes planning. Grab a notebook or a planner and start noting how you spend your time. Yes, this seems tedious, maybe even stupid, but if you honestly want to analyze how you're spending your time so you can do more of what you love, you have to know what's keeping you down.
Take Steps to Cut Out the Nonsense
Again, it sounds difficult, but if you're DVR'ing a show that you never want to truly want to watch, delete the series from your DVR. If you find yourself spending tons of time cleaning the house, consider getting a cleaning service. You can designate chores for roommates or family members to help you. Once you have a handle on your time spent, you can start to make changes. That hour you spent on Facebook? Maybe spend that reading a new book. The 30 minutes you spent watching Snaps? Was it fulfilling? Did that time help you be the best version of yourself?
Honor Your Commitment to You
Remember, this is about doing what makes you happy and finding inspiration. Whatever it is you want to do whether it's exercise, reading, walking, being creative, you deserve to do it. Honor yourself by staying true to what makes you a better person. It's okay if you get thrown off and it's okay to check Facebook and watch those Snaps. Just remember you are in charge of how you spend your time. Don't make excuses. Just do.
